Churchory is used by the people who run a church week to week: pastors, church administrators, kids ministry directors, worship leaders, small group leaders and volunteer coordinators. Churchory is church management software for small and mid-size churches. Start free with Core (your people directory, families, roles and church-wide email and push), then add only the products you need, like groups, events, Sunday serving and check-in, kids, care, chat and voting, or get everything with Churchory One.
Who uses Churchory at a church?
Churchory is used by everyone who keeps church life running, and each person sees only the parts that are theirs. One shared people directory sits underneath, so the pastor, the kids director and the small group leader are all looking at the same family, but each of them is given access to a different slice of the work.
Pick your role to see what that person's week looks like, which Churchory products and permissions they use, and which products a church typically buys for them.
Which page fits your role?
| Role | What they use Churchory for | Main products |
|---|---|---|
| Pastors | Seeing the whole church, guest follow-up, members' meetings | Sunday, Care, Voting, Open Floor |
| Church administrators | The directory, roles and permissions, data import, billing | Core, plus whatever the church owns |
| Kids ministry directors | Secure check-in, labels and pickup codes, curriculum | Kids, Sunday |
| Worship leaders | Service plans, a song library with chord charts, band schedules | Sunday |
| Small group leaders | Rosters, attendance, prayer, group chat | Groups, Chat, Care |
| Volunteer coordinators | Availability, the auto-scheduler, swaps, sign-ups | Sunday |
How do roles and permissions fit together?
Your church creates roles with its own names and sets each of 23 permission areas per role: None, View, Manage (assigned) or Manage (all). "Assigned" means only what that person leads, such as their group, their serving team or their care train. Churchory starts every church with a few roles already made, including Staff, Small Group Leader, Welcome Team, Deacon and Small Group Coach. The people solution page explains the grid in full.
How is Churchory priced for a whole team?
Per church and per product, never per user. Each product is $99 a year, which saves $201 against paying $25 a month, and Churchory One is $599 a year, which saves $949 against $129 a month, for every product and your church's own app. Every leader and volunteer is included.
What a team gets for that is one platform in place of the separate directory, group, check-in, chat, newsletter and giving tools many churches pay for today, with one people directory underneath so nobody types the same family in twice. Core, the directory with church-wide email and push, is free forever. Churchory takes no platform fee on giving, only Stripe's processing fees apply. Our team migrates your data for free, and the questions you send are answered by the husband-and-wife team who build Churchory. Every church starts with a 45-day free trial with no card. See pricing.
What if I am looking by church rather than by role?
The church types pages look at Churchory from the church's point of view: small churches, church plants, growing churches, multi-ministry churches and Baptist churches. If you are coming from another system, start with switching or the comparison page.
Frequently asked questions
Does everyone at the church need the same access?
No. Churchory has 23 permission areas, each set per role to None, View, Manage (assigned) or Manage (all), so each person gets exactly what their job needs.
Do volunteers pay for a seat?
No. Churchory is priced per church and per product, not per user, so every leader, volunteer and member is included.
Which role should set Churchory up?
Usually the church administrator, or a volunteer acting as one. They create roles, invite leaders and choose which products the church owns.
Can leaders use Churchory on their phones?
Yes. Leaders and members use Churchory Mobile on iOS and Android, and staff set things up on the web app, which also runs on a phone.
