What's the difference between Churchory and Tithe.ly?

Tithe.ly started with online giving and now sells a full bundle: free online giving with per-gift processing fees, or an All-Access bundle with church management, a custom church app, a website, events, check-in, groups, volunteer scheduling, texting and worship planning (Tithe.ly pricing, verified as of 2026-10-06). Tithe.ly also owns Breeze, which it acquired in 2021 and now calls Tithely Church Management (Tithe.ly).

Churchory is church management software for small and mid-size churches. Start free with Core (your people directory, families, roles and church-wide email and push), then add only the products you need, like groups, events, Sunday serving and check-in, kids, care, chat and voting, or get everything with Churchory One. Each Churchory product is $99 a year (a $201 saving on paying monthly) or $25 a month. Churchory One (every product, every future product and your church's own branded app) is $599 a year, saving $949, or $129 a month. No contracts, cancel any month, prices in USD, and no people-count tiers.

The two overlap a lot. The main differences are what's in the bundle (Tithe.ly includes a website builder and texting today, while Churchory's are in beta) and how you buy: Tithe.ly sells one All-Access bundle alongside separate plans, while Churchory starts with a free Core and lets you add one product at a time. A church that only needs groups and kids check-in pays for just those two products, and members get the Churchory Mobile app either way.

What does Churchory replace for a church?

Churchory replaces the four to six separate tools many churches juggle (a directory, groups, events and registration, kids check-in, chat, newsletters, giving and a church app) with one platform and one directory, so nobody enters the same family twice. Fewer tools means fewer subscriptions, fewer logins and fewer admin hours spent keeping lists in sync.

  • Core is free forever: the people directory, families, roles and permissions, church-wide email and push, and the Churchory web, mobile and Mac apps.
  • No platform fee on giving: Churchory takes no percentage of gifts. Gifts run through your church's own Stripe account, so only Stripe's processing fees apply.
  • Free, staff-run migration: our team moves your people, groups and attendance history for you.
  • Your own branded app in the App Store and Google Play with Churchory One.
  • Support from the people who build it: a husband-and-wife team, not a ticket queue.
  • Pricing that fits a budget line: $99 a year per product, or $599 a year for everything with Churchory One. Churchory One is the better deal from the seventh product on yearly billing.

If you pay for a separate check-in tool, chat app and newsletter tool today, add up what those cost and compare it with $99 a year per product or $599 a year for everything.

Tithe.ly All-Access includes a finished website builder and texting today, so if you need both of those now, All-Access may be the better fit.

How do I move from Tithe.ly to Churchory?

Moving is free; Tithe.ly ChMS and Elvanto are on the list of systems our team migrates from. Churchory's team moves your data for free: people and households, groups and leaders, upcoming events, serving teams, documents, and up to two years of attendance history. Giving ledgers stay with your giving provider, and nobody gets an invite email until you say go.

If you're on Tithely Church Management (Breeze), the history import has a Breeze preset for attendance and volunteer exports. For anything else, export a spreadsheet and use the generic preset. If you'd rather do it yourself, an admin can import people from a CSV (first and last name, email, phone, birthday, allergies and notes, matched column by column), and import past attendance and serving history from a CSV or Excel file. History imports are past records only (nobody is messaged), and an import can be undone afterwards. See switching to Churchory for the steps.

What does a church get for the price of Churchory?

Core is free forever: the people directory, families, roles, church-wide email and push, and the Churchory apps. Each product is $99 a year or $25 a month, and Churchory One is $599 a year or $129 a month for every product plus your own branded app. Churchory takes no percentage of gifts, and migration is free.

Does Tithe.ly own Breeze?

Yes. Tithe.ly acquired Breeze in 2021 and now presents Breeze as Tithely Church Management.

Can I keep Tithe.ly for giving and use Churchory for everything else?

Yes. You can buy only the Churchory products you need, at $99 a year or $25 a month each, and keep giving with Tithe.ly; Churchory's Giving product is optional.

Does Churchory include a church website like Tithe.ly?

Not yet. Churchory's Church Websites product is in beta, so if you need a website builder today, Tithe.ly All-Access includes one.

How does Churchory's giving work?

Online gifts run through your church's own Stripe account, from $1 to $25,000, with funds, recurring gifts, an option for donors to cover the fee, and year-end statements.

Which systems can you migrate from?

We migrate churches from Planning Center, Breeze, Church Community Builder, Tithe.ly ChMS / Elvanto, Realm / ACS, Servant Keeper, ChurchTrac, and spreadsheets in Excel or Google Sheets. If you use something else, choose "Something else" on the request form and send an export. Every church database can produce a spreadsheet.
